About Voice Overture

Voice Overture is a site dedicated to the art of the voice over and the voice actor. Whether you’ve been voice acting for years, have just begun your voice over career or are considering a career in voice acting, Voice Overture aims to be your source for advice, resources, news, technology, fun and games.

Voice Overture will cover all topics that are important to today’s voice actor in semi-weekly posts. As a community we will discuss some of the terminology and day-to-day tasks of a voice actor; tips and lessons on how to become a better voice actor; and help in landing that next voice over job.

Voice Overture is here to help the voice acting community but we can’t do it alone. If there is anything missing or something you’d like to see please feel free to drop us a line.

After going to school in Boston for a degree in graphic design and getting his first degree photography, Russ Renshaw ending up working as a project analyst for an investment company in New Hampshire. This is where Russ grew up, currently lives, and will most likely spend the rest of his days with his beautiful wife.

With a strong background in the arts, and after working in a job where creativity is rarely utilized, Russ then decided to pursue a career as a voice over actor. Voice Overture was created to help him along in this new and exciting career path by solidifying lessons learned in voice over class; learning about the industry and its many parts as a whole; and hopefully to meet others already working as voice actors or those who would also like to become one themselves.

As of writing this Russ’ only background experience in voice over acting is a passion to succeed and to bring characters to life through his voice. Voice Overture is here to chronicle is attempts to break into the business.
